Texas Hold'em Bonus Poker Rules

Setup

One standard deck of cards is shuffled by the dealer.

The player makes an Ante bet and has the option to place a bonus bet

Two cards are dealt to the player and two cards are dealt to the dealer.

Play of Hand

After looking at his/her cards the player must either:

  • Make a Flop bet twice the size of the Ante bet.
  • Fold, ending the game and losing the Ante bet.

Three cards are dealt face up to the board as community cards to be used by both the player and dealer.

The player must either:

  • Make a Turn bet the same size as the Ante bet.
  • Check, making no bet with the game continuing.

A fourth card is dealt face up to the board.

The player must either:

  • Make a River bet the same size as the Ante bet.
  • Check, making no bet with the game continuing.

A fifth and final card is dealt face up to the board.

Payout

The player and dealer make their best five card poker hand from their two hole cards and five board cards using standard hand rankings. The results are compared and bets settled as follows:

  • If the dealer's hand ranks higher than the player's hand the player loses the Ante, Flop, Turn and River bets.
  • If the dealer's hand ranks equally to the player's hand the player pushes the Ante, Flop, Turn and River bets.
  • If the dealer's hand ranks lower than the player's hand the player wins even money (i.e. 1 to 1) on the Flop, Turn and River bets. If the player's hand rank is a straight or higher the Ante bet is payed at even money, else the Ante bet is a push.
