Face Card |
King, Queen or Jack. |
Family Pot |
A hand of poker where almost everyone has called and is involved. |
Fast |
To be aggressive, betting or raising frequently. |
Fifth Street |
(1) In flop games - the fifth and final card (i.e "River") dealt to the board.
(2) In stud games - the fifth card dealt card to a player's hand. |
Fill Up |
To draw to and to make a full house. |
Fish |
A poor player. |
Five Card Draw |
A draw poker game where the player's are dealt five cards. |
Five Card Stud |
A stud poker game where the player's are dealt one hole card and 4 up cards. |
Fixed Limit |
Betting structure with agreed upon maximum betting and raise amounts in each round. |
Flat Call |
Calling a bet without raising. |
Floorman |
A poker room employee who makes rulings and decisions. |
Flop |
The first three community cards dealt at once in poker games such as Texas Hold'em or Omaha. |
Flush |
A poker hand with five cards of the same suit. |
Fold |
To throw your hand away and to not call or raise a bet. |
Forced Bet |
A mandatory bet to start off the betting, usually in stud games. |
Four Flush |
A poker hand with four cards of the same suit. |
Four of a Kind |
A poker hand with four cards of the same rank. |
Fourth Street |
(1) In flop games - the fourth card (i.e. "Turn") dealt to the board.
(2) In stud games - the fourth card dealt card to a player's hand. |
Free Card |
A card a player gets to draw without having to call a bet. |
Free Roll |
A situation where a player is certain to win a portion of the pot with a chance to win the whole pot. |
Freeroll Tournament |
A tournament that has no entry fee but pays out prizes. |
Full House |
A poker hand that contains 3 of a kind in one rank, and a pair of another rank. |
